Elkay / Halsey Taylor 60290C - Stainless Steel Regulator Cartridge. This water cooler and drinking fountain part is used to control or regulate the incoming water pressure to a preferable stream height. This regulating cartridge has a stainless steel body wrapped around the internal diaphram. As you activate or push down on the spring end of this valve, the water passes by the regulating cartridge and out the spout. To adjust this drinking fountain cartridge, there is a flat head screw driver impression right in front of the spring. As you tighten or turn to the right the stream height decreases. As you loosen or turn to the left the stream height increases. Make sure not to over tighten this screw or completely remove this screw as this will damage the internals of this water cooler and drinking fountain regulating valve.

This regulating cartiridge is commonly used with the Halsey Taylor / Elkay 15005C, 50986C or the A54881. This cartridge can also be used with the Oasis C026503, and the A020957.

Genuine Halsey Taylor replacement part used in their complete line of water coolers and fountains. The reason why I have this listed for all of the manufacturers is the fact that I've personally used this in place of all the rest and find it to be the best regulator on the market. The only one so far that I've seen that this cartridge won't replace is the 66654C.

They began the first purified water fountain because of the issue with drinking water spreading dysentary among people using unsafe water dispensing devises. Fast forward 100 years and Halsey Taylor is one of the worlds' leaders in drinking fountain and water cooler manufacturing.

Elkay Plumbing began in 1920 with the same hopes of providing clean water dispensing at a low cost for their consumers. Later on during the manufacturing boom of the USA, Elkay demand increased and Elkay started manufacturing water coolers and drinking fountains. During this time Elkay aquired Halsey Taylor along with other company aquisitions.
